Order your Adopt-a-Priest Pins now!
As we approach the end of The Year for Priests and prepare for The Year of the Eucharist, what better way than with this visible expression to let the priests serving in our diocese know how much we care for them and their precious ministry. Nearly 600 pins are already being worn!
For the cost of only $10 you receive: a lapel pin engraved with a priest’s initials & ordination date, a vocation prayer card with the priest’s name & birthday, and a note with a pre-addressed envelope to send to the priest letting him know that you are praying for him.
Purchase your personal pin now or take some pins on consignment to offer for sale to friends and members of your parish, perhaps after Mass in the narthex of your church or at other parish gatherings.

If all goes as planned you will be invited to join the Presiding Priest at the Altar following communion to receive the Vocations Cross. We ask that you place the Cross in a prominent location in your home to serve as a reminder to you and your family to pray together each day for a week to foster vocations to our Church. The dinning room table is often the best location.

  1. Please arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled Mass
  2. Select a pew or seats close to the Altar
  3. Send a family member to greet the Presiding Priest before Mass begins in the Sacristy and say, “Hello Father, I am from the …… family and we are here to accept the Traveling Vocations Cross at this Mass”.
  4. If you do not receive the Cross during Mass, (and if this occurs we sincerely apologize) please return to the Sacristy after Mass to see if perhaps it was a simple oversight, if not please contact the TVC vocations team at ssppvocationscross@gmail.com and we will correct the situation.
  5. At the end of your week, please return the Cross to the Parish office on Friday 9am to 3:30pm. Please call the office at (630) 355-1081 if an emergency will prevent you from doing so.
  6. Please invite others to participate, send them to our web site!
  7. If for any reason you or a member of your family can not be in attendance to receive the Vocations Cross at your family’s scheduled Mass please send a proxy to step forward on your behalf.
